Thank you to all who gave up their time to attend the public meeting of T_hCell last evening.

It was very productive and many topics were covered including the need to hold our MP's to account, DLA & the law, PR and avenues to promote our group etc. . I am glad the subject of appeals was raised.

People need to be aware, and I repeat an earlier blog entry. When you go for appeal. The decision could bring about an even worse award for benefit than the one that brought the appeal in the first place. It is a risk. Whereas I encourage appeal it has to be considered and I would recommend you get proper advice to aid that decision. This is why I fully understand those who do not wish to go down this avenue.

It was good also to be asked questions about our independence as a group in terms of  funding etc. No one connected with T_hCell draws a salary for work that is done.  We rely on the kindness of , initially strangers, that become friends. I would like to thank all those who contribute their time and work in the fore & background to keep our projects going.  Funding comes from our pockets and as you can imagine it is a very shallow pocket.  We are looking into obtaining funding to keep us organisationally afloat, stamps, paper, webspace all cost unfortunately.

We are bound in our Terms of reference to remain independent.  Prefering to return funding if the originator expects their to be "strings attached" or it creates a conflict of interest. We always want to retain the freedom to speak freely.
