I have an IB50 form now thanks to the person who provided this.
Today we heard from Lawworks that they had managed to find us a legal firm that is willing to look at the legal case we have. This legal case is a collaboration with Feedback South London.
We believe there is a case concerning the Disability Living Allowance and Disability Working Allowance Act 1991 and various other pieces of legislation. We have not briefed or given any detail on this as yet. It would be unfair to do so. UNTIL we are legally sure.
This is an update to this entry - click here and the request for pro bono legal work - click here.
I will update with more information when it is available.

Fantastic news! I hope that the Law Firm who is taking on this case will find that there is a legal arguement against the review and the person who is putting themselves on the line if a test case goes forward should be commended.
I fully agree. The person whose case is also the person who found the legal arguments. The community owe this person a debt of gratitude.
John can you be more specific at this point as to what the "legal arguments" are?
You are also doing great work by the way and we the HIV community owe you a huge debt of gratitude.
I would like to be more open. Being transparent is my nature. There is a balance to be made here however. Between letting you know what we as a group of ordinary HIV+ people are doing to help our cause and giving you specific information that we are sure is of benefit to the community and you can use.
I would like to be more specific about this. However I believe it is proper to fully explore with suitably qualified people the merits of the legal arguments as we see them.
At the end of the day the opinion could be that there is no legal argument.
Clearly we want to avoid giving people bad specific advice. However we must pursue every avenue that is open to us of which this is one.
We have been working for several months on this. We now have a large legal firm who will look at this for us and give us an opinion.
Either way when that happens make no mistake I will then be in a situation to give more detailed information.
At the heart of this also is a person for whom I have a great deal of respect and it is their situation at the heart of this. It is right and proper they be allowed to explore there options also.
I am really sorry to have to be vague at this point in time, and I hope you will understand it is for good reason.
On the gratitude front.
This project has served as a conduit for my community. I have personally become extremely proud of my fellow HIV+ friends (yes i regard you as friends). Without people spreading the word, getting involved by sharing their stories, donating money, time and skills. Without other groups of HIV+ people joining together. Without the experience of seasoned HIV campaigners. This would be nothing. The gratitude is to "Team HIV", you & I.
We may not win this battle at all in terms of the Review & Benefits situation.
However in my view we have won the war already. We are not sitting back and taking what is being dealt to us anymore. We need to fight to ensure the right understanding of our issues & equity in decision making.
This has been a start.
We should all be proud of this.
If I can "ego trip" a little more. This also demonstrates what someone can do from scratch, without funds by just trying. Many more have joined along the way for which I am eternally grateful. If one person looks at my experience and it encourages them to take more of an active role in the decisions that shape their life whereas before they would not. My primary goal has been achieved (I know it has been).
