A quote from a London HIV clinic doctor last nite: 'I would bank on losing it I think everyone will. No one is doing the forms at the moment as a protest.' I'm not sure whether he means the claimants or the medics not filling in the forms.

Has anyone NOT filled in the forms that you know of & surely this would only make it worse for the clamiants as they will be visited by a DLA medic, am I right?

What next STOPPING medication?
A sort of 'hunger' strike........

I know from previous experience that I left part of my medication at home while a way, was told to stop for four weeks & then start them again. In that period my Viral load went from undetectable to a dizzy height. CD 4s not too bad. I can certainly see that some people will do drastic things at desperate times...

I haven't heard of anyone NOT filling in the forms. As not doing so would mean a ceasation of benefit. I would always advise you fill the forms in. Keep copies and APPEAL where necessary.

With respect to medication. I have tried not to overtly mention the situation you raise. Though I mentioned it in the letters I wrote to government ministers yesterday.

I would advise you continue to take your medication. As not doing so will put you rhealth at risk . With the knock on effect being felt by those close to you.

However, I have to be honest and many comments I have received so mention this course of action.

I guess if you get the timing right wih regard to stopping medication 'medication holiday'is the term I've heard. Stop meds & go have your bloods done, with any luck if your reports indicate a viral load above 200 copies then the DLA reviewer may have to reconcider a negative action.
Clutching a straws here.

I WOULD ADVISE YOU DO NOT STOP YOUR MEDICATION. IT MAY CREATE LONG TERM RESISTANCE ISSUES. IF YOU SO STOP DO SO UNDER ADVISE FROM YOUR CONSULTANT.
